Nicki Harris
3rd Dan
Level 2

National Squad Coach







Started Judo age 6, winning 1st medal aged 8 in Welsh Open. Won many more medals over the years, representing the NHC area on many times, including winning the deciding contest in a team event in Germany. Became 1st Dan at 17 and 2nd Dan at 20. In 2017 she obtained her 3rd Dan 
Nicki Won 2 National Junior Bronze medals which gained her a place on the Young Women’s National Squad for 2 years.
She was voted Newbury Sports personality of the Year in 1984.
1984 she won  Bronze at the Belgium Open.
Unfortunately she was forced to retire from competitions after a back injury in 1988 and turned to coaching a few years later after having 2 boys.
Her coaching career began in 1995 and became Head Coach at Newbury in 2010.
She made a very brief return to competitive fighting in 2013  becoming the British Masters Champion

Under 8 Coach
Ted Fisher

The big cuddly bear that coaches the Under 8s.
Judo for the under 8's covers the fundamentals of the Judo techniques as well as helping the youngsters develop their self confidence and discipline. Most of all though, it is about having fun in an energetic and safe environment.

Sarah Digweed
Level 2









Started judo in 1979 aged 6, won many competitions over the years.
National Junior Champion in 1989 aged 16,
Senior Silver Medalist in 1990 and gained a place on the British Womens squad but retired soon after through a knee injury.
Returned to Judo in 2001 when her eldest took up the sport.
Gained her level 2 in coaching and began competing again before again having to take time out through a serious knee injury,
She made another come back winning the British masters in September 2013 and in September 2014 Sarah became World Masters Champion.

Robin has been involved in Judo for over 30 years and coaching for the last 25 years, he is a 1st Dan.
